When building a modern greenhouse, a screening installation is indispensable. After all, screens guarantee a good climate control, which is beneficial to the quality of the products. Moreover, such an installation offers great savings in energy use. Snelder is able to supply a large range of screen materials, specially selected for the chosen crop and the customer's requirements. We can supply energy saving, reflective, dimming and assimilation screens.

We distinguish two types of screen systems:
  • pull-wire system
  • push/pull system.

The advantage of the pull-wire system, is that it does not intercept a lot of light, while the push-pull tubes of the push-pull system do. Yet, the push-pull system exerts less force to the outside walls, which is an advantage when working with several screens. For both systems, Snelder supplies a complete range of parts, such as wire guides, screen profiles, end wall plates, slip blocks, hanging brackets and truss clamps. The majority of these products is produced in-house.

Snelder supplies complete screen installations, including screens from renowned screen suppliers. Moreover, we also supply the drive, such as gear-racks and motor reductors.

Types: Horizontal screening

In the wire screen system, a drive tube with clamping bushes, onto which steel cables can be wound and unwound, takes care of the horizontal movement of the screen profile between the lattices. The screen resting on the wire bed is mounted to the screen profile, which in its turn is moving between the lattices.

For an energy tight closure of a screening installation, a slip element is mounted under the screen profile. This slip element has an adjustable slip force and compensates shrinkage and expansion of the greenhouse.

For greenhouses without lattice girders, such as certain types of poly greenhouses, Snelder has a suitable screening system as well.In such cases, we use a 19 mm tube as screen profile. To this, the various parts will be clamped, such as saddle clamps, screen stoppers, tube clamps and cable holders.

The drive is identical to the one that is used for the pull-wire system for Venlo greenhouses.

In the push/pull system, the screening system is operated by means of gear-racks and push/pull tubes. In their turn, these are coupled to the screen profile drawn between the lattices. The diabolo wheel brackets will guide the push/pull tube.

For screening a shorter (end) section, Snelder uses a special four roll delay unit.

  • Innovation through cooperation
The new Zip Inn Screen securing system for screen fabrics is a fast, clean and safe method for installing screen fabrics in greenhouses. The system has been developed in cooperation with Bom Group, a greenhouse builder and screen specialist for the international horticultural industry.

  • Cleaner screen fabric
The use of a zip system on a reinforced and robust fabric edge, in combination with specially designed profiles, means that thescreen fabric no longer needs to be secured manually and can  be fitted once all the construction work in the greenhouse hasbeen completed. This means that the screen fabric remains almost 100% clean, for optimum results.

  • Rapid and safe processing
The new securing system ensures rapid and safe installation because the screen fabric is fitted from a single stable, safelocation, instead of on an unstable driving platform up in the air.

  • Suitable for every screen fabric
The patented Zip Inn Screen system is in theory suitable for  every screen fabric available from standard screen fabric suppliers.
